~PD Pop: Getting the Most Out of Class-wide Math Intervention (K-12) Presented by Amanda VanDerHeyden

Description

MTSS is a model that promotes growth for all learners and produces a dataset that can be used to inform future instructional actions. When risk is high, class-wide math intervention is a necessary feature of MTSS (Tier 1.5) that actually serves as a necessary second screening gate. Taking only 15-20 minutes per day, it lowers overall risk (i.e., improving overall proficiency), closes opportunity gaps, and provides much more accurate identification of students needing more intensive intervention. Class-wide intervention produces a strong incremental cost effectiveness ratio meaning that it produces benefit to all students in a highly efficient way. This session will teach attendees how to add class-wide math intervention to their math MTSS model for superior results. Videos and protocols will be shared to assist teachers and leaders to try class-wide intervention in their own classrooms.
