Description
This session examines how students’ beliefs about themselves and mathematics directly impact engagement, persistence, and achievement. Participants will explore how classroom culture, language, and instructional choices shape students’ mathematical identities and learn practical ways to foster confidence and a sense of belonging in math. Although each session can stand alone, all sessions reference prior and future learning to show how the work fits together; this first session lays critical groundwork for the series and is highly recommended for all registrants, regardless of which additional sessions you choose to attend.
