Description
Participants will leave this presentation with a concrete understanding of how and why to ensure that students have a broad and deep understanding of many word meanings from their earliest years in school. They will explore the Dual Coding Theory that is a cornerstone of support for the rich, multi-sensory experiences students will encounter in the vocabulary activities. Effective and efficient multi-sensory activities will be introduced that teach meanings of vocabulary terms in a way that maximizes the connections between the Orthographic, Phonological, and Meaning Processors.
