In our tech-dominant world, never has it been more vital to engage students in direct academic discourse in the classroom. Research strongly supports this as a best practice, leading to improved learning outcomes. For multilingual learners, inclusion in oral language activities is not only possible, it is essential for their growth in English proficiency. In this interactive workshop session, participants will experience and apply a variety of strategies that will get students talking in any academic lesson. Every teacher will leave with actionable instructional moves for building low-risk oracy opportunities for MLs. This session is virtual and will also be recorded and shared with registrants afterward.
